Izzy + Max's Country House Wedding
Izzy and Max married on a glorious sunny day last October at a unique Arts and Crafts country house on the North Norfolk coast.
Izzy wore 'Ocean,' an elegant beaded, straight cut bloused style dress from the Rosa Clara Gatsby collection. This alluring wedding gown has a soft V-front neckline, deep low cut back detail and is embellished with the most delicate beaded design that cascades down the skirt.
Izzy - "I really enjoyed my wedding dress shopping experience – 'May and Grace' was the last shop I went to (and the second shop I’d visited with my Mum who lives in Haslemere). Before that I’d visited 4 shops in London (3 on my own and one other with my Mum). I felt excited and enjoyed the process of honing in on a style that suited me and my vision for the wedding."
How did you decide upon the dress that you chose?
"I’d selected three dresses to try on from the Rosa Clara Gatsby range (our venue, 'Voewood,' was built in the early 1900s and in an arts & crafts style from that era - something a bit “art deco” therefore felt appropriate. I also really loved the cuts of the dresses. They were, however, quite different from the styles I’d tried on before / thought I’d wanted for the day (halter neck, simple, satin/ silk), so the Rosa Clara range was a bit of a wildcard! My Mum helped me choose the Ocean dress – we loved the beading and sequin detail (perfect for our October wedding / the party part of the day), and really elegant train and V neck at the front and back with detailing / emphasis on the waist."
What was the favourite part of your dress shopping experience?
"Probably just enjoying trying on lots of beautiful dresses and having my Mum and the May and Grace team guide me to what I wanted."
What shoes and accessories did you choose and why?
"Hydrangea pearl edge cathedral length veil from Rainbow club – I loved the subtle pearl detail and this really complimented the pearl beading in the 'Ocean' dress and also loved the drama of the length for photos / this blended well with the length of my train.
Rainbow club – Faith ivory satin slingback block heel – I loved the block heel (for comfort / dancing / wasn’t too high but high enough). Also loved the elegance of the satin and pointed toe which really complimented my dress."
Venue, please describe your venue and why you chose it?
"We loved Voewood’s fun, laid-back and creative style. We also wanted somewhere where our closest friends and families could stay / where everyone could make a bit of a weekend of it. Norfolk holds a place in both of our hearts (we both have family from there and have spent many happy holidays near Holt too).
Did you have a specific colour palette or theme for your wedding day?
"Bridesmaids were in a dusky olive green satin – our flowers were quite autumnal – dusky pinks but with some stronger hues in oranges and purples."
How did you feel in your dress on your special day?
"I felt amazing! I loved my dress so much and can’t believe I only get to wear it like that once (although I’m planning to dye / alter it to a cocktail dress to continue to get good use from it)"
What was your favourite moment of the day?
"Too many to mention but probably the ceremony and going through the motions of becoming Max’s wife!"

"Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours."
